Bonsteel Park 8455 Highway A1A, Melbourne Beach Popular for surfing and shoreline fishing, this peaceful 2.34-acre community beach park is located 15-miles south of U.S. Hwy 192. Preserving the natural environment, facilities at this quiet south beach include a stabilized parking area and dune crossover.

Canova Beach Park 3299 Highway A1A, Indian Harbour Beach On the Atlantic Ocean at the eastern end of Eau Gallie Boulevard, this 12.4-acre community beach park features a xeriscape garden with native plants sponsored by the South Brevard Water Authority. Facilities include a small pavilion, grill, sheltered picnic tables, rest-rooms and outside showers. One of the 3 dune crossovers is wheelchair accessible.

Coconut Point Park 3535 Highway A1A, Melbourne Beach Located 5.5 miles south of U.S. Hwy 192, this 36.9-acre community beach park and sea turtle nesting site preserves the natural environment. Popular for surfing, beachcombing and fishing, the park amenities include a small pavilion, restrooms, and an outside shower. One of the 2 dune crossovers is wheelchair accessible.

Eau Gallie Causeway Park Eau Gallie Causeway-SR 518, Melbourne This 1.4-acre boating area is a popular boat launch and windsurfing site. It is also a great place for viewing the annual Christmas Parade of Boats. Besides the natural windsurfing launch area, facilities include a 4-lane boat ramp, unpaved parking for 20 cars with boat trailers, and a 180’ fishing catwalk.

Erna Nixon Park 1200 Evans Road, Melbourne This 53.93-acre community park located off of Nasa Boulevard southwest of the Melbourne Airport is a natural Florida hammock and nature preserve. A popular site for nature walks and outdoor festivals including the annual Crackerfest, it features 3,000’ of elevated boardwalk winding through three different ecosystems where native plant species and small animals can be viewed. A small pavilion with picnic tables and restrooms adjoins a Nature Center where exhibits can be viewed. For information about tours and events, call 952-4525. First Street Boat Ramp 4727 1st Street, Grant Off of U.S. Hwy 1, just south of John Jorgensen’s Boat Ramp, this .54-acre boating area provides access to the Indian River. Facilities include a 1-lane boat ramp, parking for 30 cars and 6 trailers, and a 150’ boat dock.

Fisherman’s Landing 5795 U.S. Hwy 1, Grant Featuring the Grant Historical House, this scenic 7.48-acre community river park is located off U.S. Hwy 1 adjacent to the Indian River Lagoon. It is a perfect wayside park for travelers and a convenient site for community events. The shaded pavilion and grill with restrooms nearby, the 2,000’ walking path, and the 630’ riverfront boardwalk invite picnics and leisurely strolls. The 200’ fishing dock accommodates fishing, and may be used by boaters to access the restrooms and picnic area. Although motorized boat launching is not permitted, hand-carried canoes and kayaks may put-in from the north parking area. To reserve the pavilion, call 952-4650.

Flutie Athletic Complex 2101 Oak Street, Melbourne Beach Parks Referendum Project This beautiful athletic complex is a 29-acre community park situated across from Gemini Elementary School. Catching the sea breezes, it is home of two youth athletic organizations: South Beaches Little League and Melbourne Beach Soccer Club. Athletic facilities include lighted tennis courts, soccer fields, little league fields, a multi-use field, concession stand, and pavilion.

Howard E. Futch Memorial Park (Formerly Paradise Beach Park) Parks Referendum Project 2301 North A1A, Melbourne On the beach 1.5-miles south of Eau Gallie Boulevard, this 12.04-acre regional beach park is a popular site for group activities. The beach has 5 dune crossovers, *seasonal lifeguards, and a sand volleyball court. Picnic facilities include a large pavilion with seating for up to 200, barbeque grills, 1 mid-sized pavilion and 4 small pavilions. Restrooms, park benches, and outside showers provide convenience. Parks Referendum Project renovations including (2) dune crossovers, restrooms, parking, stormwater system, and other site improvements. John Jorgensen’s Landing 5045 U.S. Hwy 1, Grant Located on the Indian River Lagoon 2-miles south of Valkaria Road, this active .49-acre boating area includes parking for 25 cars and trailers.

Kiwanis Park at Geiger Point Melbourne Causeway, Melbourne In a landscaped setting near the southwest end of the Melbourne Causeway, this 7-acre community park offers a scenic view of the Indian River Lagoon. Bounded by shoreline on three sides, fishing is a favorite pastime, with the small pavilion plus 2 scattered picnic tables making this a popular wayside stop and site for brown bag lunches.

Lake Washington Park 6000 Lake Washington Road, Melbourne This shaded 25.96-acre community river park is along the shore of Lake Washington at the west end of Lake Washington Road. The park has a boating area ramps for power boats and airboats. Fishing is popular on the lake and on the St. Johns River which can be accessed from the lake. Parking is available for cars and trailers. Additional facilities include restrooms, 1 mid-sized pavilion, 1 small pavilion, 1 sheltered picnic table, a playground and fishing pier. Long Point Park 700 Long Point Road, Melbourne Beach Parks Referendum Project A popular camping park, this 84.5-acre conservation area and urban district river park is off SR A1A, 1-mile north of Sebastian Inlet on an island in the Indian River Lagoon. 113 campsites are positioned along the shoreline for convenient fishing. Also available is a 1-lane boat ramp and a small fishing dock. The park is the habitat of protected wildlife such as otters, bobcats, birds and manatees, and is also a major roosting site for wood storks. Close by on Scout Island—adjacent to the camping area and connected by a bridge, primitive camping is available at a reasonable group rate, and more than a mile of nature trails can be explored. Nature walks are provided for school children and organized groups by appointment. The close proximity to the lagoon, the Sebastian Inlet marine ecosystems and the Atlantic Ocean attract campers to this park where facilities include 15 campsites with water, electric, and sewer; 115 campsites with water and electric; 40 rustic campsites; restrooms, showers, laundry, dump station and concession store. Other amenities include a playground, horseshoe pits, 4 small and 1 mid-sized pavilion, 1 large pavilion seating up to 200, picnic tables, a wading bird pond, an unguarded swimming pond and a firepit. Max K. Rodes Park 3000 Minton Road, West Melbourne Parks Referendum Project This 18.18-acre community park can be found 1-mile south of U.S. Hwy 192, across from Meadowlane Elementary School at the corner of Fell and Minton Roads. The park features a community center with a small kitchen, athletic fields, and a swimming lake with seasonal lifeguards. Besides the football field, little league fields and concession stand, amenities include a basketball court, volleyball court, shuffleboard court, playground, 2 small pavilions and picnic tables. Melbourne Riverview Park 2400 Riverview Drive, Melbourne Just off of U.S. Hwy 1 on the Indian River Lagoon, 1-mile south of the Melbourne Causeway, this 16-acre community river park includes a conservation area and a popular windsurfing site. The shoreline is accessible for fishing near an open grassy area, where a 1-lane launch ramp is provided for nonmotorized watercraft. A large pavilion with seating for up to 100 is located nearby with restrooms and a sand volleyball court (installation of a playground is planned). The pavilion may be reserved for group activities by calling 952-4650.

Micco Park 9655 Riverview Drive, Micco Parks Referendum Project To find this quiet 9.32-acre neighborhood park, turn onto Main Street, which is the last street to the right before crossing the Sebastian River Bridge at the south County line, and then keep left onto Riverview Drive. Partially shaded with oaks and other native trees, several recreational opportunities are available for parkgoers including a 1-mile stationed exercise trail, a basketball court, softball field, volleyball court and horseshoe pits. The attractive playground system, restrooms, and 2 small pavilions make this a convenient site for family outings. Facility use is on a first come, first served basis.

Oars & Paddles Park 1329 Banana River Drive, Indian Harbour Beach Parks Referendum Project Home of the Space Coast Crew Rowing Club and popular for non-motorized recreational activities including canoeing, rowing, and paddling, this park accesses the Banana River through Whiting Waterway. To find it, take Eau Gallie Causeway (SR 518) to South Patrick Drive (SR 513), and go north .89-mile and turn west on Banana River Drive. Parks Referendum Project development at this site included a boat house, pavilion, restrooms, pedway, improved parking, and picnic tables. Grand opening of the new facilities was March 5, 2004.

Palm Bay Aquatic Center 420 Community College Parkway SE, Palm Bay Parks Referendum Project Located at the Brevard Community College Palm Bay Campus, pool features include zero entry depth, water play toys, large slide, teaching area, 25-yard lap lanes, and a 1-meter diving well. Aquatic Center programs are conducted by Parks and Recreation Department staff. Programs include open swim, swim & dive lessons, swim team, exercise classes, lifeguard training, scuba training, birthday parties and more! Schedules are posted at: www.brevardparks.com/pbac

Palm Bay Regional Park 1951 N.W. Malabar Road, Palm Bay Parks Referendum ProjectLocated 6-miles west of I-95, this 200-acre regional park is home to the Palm Bay Soccer Club, and Palm Bay Cricket Club. 2 lakes attract fishermen, and rustic group camping is available by permit for organized youth groups. Facilities include a multipurpose field, soccer fields, basketball court, restrooms, picnic area, playground, bicycle/walking trail and fishing deck.

Police Foundation Park 4150 Miami Avenue, West Melbourne Parks Referendum Project This 6.34-acre quiet neighborhood park is about a half mile east of I-95 and a quarter mile south of U.S Hwy 192. Partially shaded with open areas, it features an unguarded swimming lake, 2 small pavilions and a playground.

POW/MIA (Pineda Landing) 5995 North Hwy U.S. 1, Melbourne Parks Referendum Project This 4.58-acre community river park is on the shoreline of the Indian River just north of the Pineda Causeway. It features a lighted 1-lane boat ramp and shoreline fishing. 4 covered picnic tables each with a grill invite riverfront family outings, and a small building with a meeting room that can be rented. Rotary Park at Suntree 6495 North U.S. Hwy 1, Melbourne At the junction of U.S. Hwy 1 and Suntree Boulevard, this 10.36-acre community river park is situated on the shore of the Indian River Lagoon. A featured attraction for group and community gatherings is the large pavilion, which seats up to 150 and includes restrooms, 2 barbeque pits and an expansive river view. Nearby is a large colorful playground system with toddler equipment, and along the shore and boardwalk are 3 sheltered family picnic tables. Seagull Park 285 Highway A1A, Satellite Beach This 1.6-acre neighborhood beach park is 1-mile south of the Pineda Causeway. It is landscaped with native plants and provides dune crossovers for beachgoers and surf fishing. Facilities include 2 sheltered picnic tables, an outdoor shower and a small parking area.

South Mainland Community Center-Micco 3700 Allen Avenue, Micco This 10.38-acre community park is located off of Daytona Boulevard at the west end of Allen Avenue. Activities and events are scheduled at the gymnasium and 4,745-sq. ft. community center. Additional facilities include a playground, covered walkway, and shade structure funded by the Parks Referendum (with development of a multipurpose field, nature trail and site improvements in process). South Patrick Community Park 249 Sea Park Boulevard, Satellite Beach Off of South Patrick Drive, this 8.12-acre neighborhood park is across from Sea Park Elementary School. The open area site features a soccer field, playground, 2500' paved walkway, restrooms, and a small pavilion with grills. For pavilion reservation details, call 952-4650.

S.P.R.A. Park 499 Highway A1A, Satellite Beach South Patrick Residents Association Park is 1.5-miles south of the Pineda Causeway. This .83-acre neighborhood beach park has a dune crossover providing access for beachgoers and surf fishing. It features a small parking area, an outdoor shower and a memorial to the Challenger Mission.

Spessard Holland North Beach Park 2525 SR A1A, Melbourne Beach On the beach 3-miles south of U.S. Hwy 192, this 4.53-acre community beach park is a popular fishing site and recreation area with seasonal lifeguards. Facilities include 3 dune crossovers, 3 small boardwalk pavilions, restrooms and outdoor showers. Call 952-4650 for pavilion rental information.

Spessard Holland South Beach Park 2545 SR A1A, Melbourne Beach Across from Spessard Holland Golf Course and 3.5 miles south of U.S. Hwy 192, this 6.5-acre community beach park with seasonal lifeguards is a popular family park featuring a 150’ boardwalk and 2 small pavilions. Easy beach access for surf fishing and beachgoers is provided by 6 dune crossovers. Additional amenities include restrooms and outdoor showers. For pavilion rental information, call 952-4650.

Wickham Park 2500 Parkway Drive, Melbourne Parks Referendum ProjectAdjacent to the Brevard Community College-Melbourne Campus, this 391.04-acre regional park features a variety of recreational opportunities. A 1.5-mile drive, suitable for jogging and cycling, winds through the park’s open areas, pine woods and lakes. Camping, community events, special interest and equestrian activities are hosted at this expansive park. Nestled in the pine forest are 88 campsites with water and electric hookups, as well as 23 rustic campsites. Shower rooms, laundry, youth group site, and fire pit are all nearby. Recreational amenities include 2 seasonally guarded swimming lakes, 3 small fishing lakes, an 18-hole disc golf course, an archery range, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, playground, multipurpose and soccer fields (Home of Space Coast United Soccer). A .25-mile stationed exercise trail, 2,000’ of nature trails, and horse trails offer additional attractions, with a horse stable and show ring situated at the southwest corner of the park for equestrians. An office/visitors reception facility, a small community center, and a xeriscape garden are near the park entrance, with 8 pavilions and picnic tables located throughout the park. A large pavilion with a banquet kitchen and seating capacity for up to 1,500 people is positioned at the north end of the park adjacent to the community college south parking area, and an amphitheater is centrally located near the campgrounds.
